The History
The Generator Connection was started on March 3, 1999. Wayne Noyes, the owner, had been in the electrical contracting business Noyes Electric Inc. since 1975. In February of 1998, the New England area experienced the worst ice storm in recent history. Power was out for weeks in some areas.
It was then that Wayne had an idea: if someone offered a complete installed package—including a generator, power cord, transfer switch, power outlet box—and provided service for everything they sold, there could be a strong market for such a service. After giving careful thought and conducting research, Wayne discovered that no company was currently selling, installing, and servicing portable and standby generator systems as a complete solution. On March 3, 1999, The Generator Connection was born. Wayne introduced two initial packages: a 6kW portable generator with a 10-circuit manual transfer switch, and a 12kW standby generator with an automatic transfer switch. He placed a small ad in the local newspaper, and the business began to grow.
Over the years, The Generator Connection has continued to grow. Today, we are a family operated business offering Sales, Service and Installation throughout New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts from our Barrington, NH office.
After installing thousands of generators in residential, commercial, municipal, and healthcare settings, we understand what makes a system reliable—and what doesn’t.
